This is a series of five classes designed especially for beginners to learn the basics of yoga and prepare for a group yoga class. Whether you are new to yoga, or you want to study posture from the fundamentals, this class series is for you. Each week will be a 60-minute class going over the basic postures (asana) and movements of yoga from the ground up. This class combines the Hatha style of gently holding yoga postures and the Vinyasa style of linking breath and movement that leaves plenty of time for exploring and feeling the postures and receiving feedback and assistance in an accepting environment. Each class begins with breath control exercises (pranayama) and ends with a brief period of meditation/reflection.
